In honour of Canada Day (July 1) and Independance Day (July 4) falling on opposite sides of the same weekend, I thought I would share a few interesting Canadian/American facts between these two cousins:

  • Canada is the largest source of imported crude oil in the U.S., bigger than Saudi Arabia or the yet untested reserves of Iraq.*

  • Total U.S.-Canada trade is over $1 billion a day.**

  • US is Canada's largest trading partner. Canada is US' largest trading partner.***

  • None of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists entered the U.S. from Canada.*

  • Canada-U.S. trade supports more than five million American jobs.*
